Sanuki Japanese Restaurant in New Bern

I rate it 4 stars because nothing really stood out to me. With that being said the food was good and the waiter was kind and helpful. I had hibachi chicken and shrimp with a Philadelphia roll and eel roll. The place needs updates but would still recommend.

Sushi was good. Nothing to write home about, but I wouldn't​ hesitate to go again. Atmosphere was nice, but the location isn't very big. I imagine it would be pretty noisy on a busy night.

Great Hibachi!Food taste fresh and they give you plenty of food.Dinner time is quite pricey but worth every dime!

Great hibachi and it is just like Musashi's except they do not cook in front of you. It is also a lot cheaper but there is no sacrifice of quality. I usually do take out but the dining area looks nice and enjoyable as well. The staff are also wonderful and have always had a positive experience. Personal favorites are the hibachi filet mignon and hibachi jumbo shrimp.

It's a Japanese steakhouse house where they don't cook in front of you making the food more affordable but just as delicious. One of my favorite Japanese places in New Bern.

Wow, where to begin! The inside of this restuarant was disappointing, it smelled of wet carpet and mold. As a person with a sensitive nose, the smell was enough to turn me off to this place, but then came the food. The salad with ginger dressing was a soupy mess, the Vietnamese egg rolls were flavorless and the duck sauce was missing the duck sauce! The chicken teriyaki was ok, but the fried rice and water logged, limp vegetables need work. Had been to this restaurant before but it wasn't this bad, but after this visit and the dead cockroaches right outside the entrance of this establishment...we're never coming back. Eat at your own risk!

They have good food & sushi for descent price. Good place for lunch. 3 rolls of sushi for 12.50. Food was fresh & did not wait long.

Pretty meh.. Nothing to rave about, the only real complaint is they charge too much just ok food. Their sushi list is very limited and you have to ask for it.

Eat here regularly. Good food, fair portions, fair prices. I have eaten their salmon, hibachi filet, hibachi chicken, hibachi shrimp, shrimp tempura, and vegetable tempura. All really good. Wife loves the hibachi scallops.

Love this place--I love the rice from Musashi's but I don't always want to splurge on the whole experience and that's when I go to Sanuki. Same food and quality at a more affordable price. Great food and always quick and efficient service whether dining in or out.

Good selection of sushi, quick service and very good price. No complaints here for me. Just happy I got to have sushi after a very tiresome week helping with disaster relief in the New Bern area.

We picked Sanuki after going through some of the ratings and it was nearby.The food was NOT disappointing at all! The sushi was fresh and delicious. Well put together and the tuna roll was really good as well. We had the shrimp & vegetable tempura all of which were perfectly fried and lightly breaded. My wife had the chicken udon and raved about it. My order came with miso soup and a side salad and I opted for the ginger dressing. These are the average of the meal. They were both fresh with the soup hot and salad cool and crisp. The real struggle was with our server. He was clearly new and was trying, so I'm not going to beat him. He really was trying and with experience will be a fine server.

Favorite place for sushi! The shrimp tempura roll is so yummy! Love the Pad Thai Noodles too! Highly recommend!!!

This place always has the best Japanese, little expensive but for the size portions that u get, its def worth every penny

Great sushi, sake, and friendly staff. The wasabi is fresh so prepare yourself because it packs a stronger punch than the wasabi I'm used to.

We happened upon this restaurant on accident. They were nice taking our order, and they even had sanitizer and sanitized pens and a spot for after use when picking it up. They were clean. The bad - we smelled something burned on the way home. After getting home, we found out it was the rice. We would eat here again only in a pinch.

Great food and great server best restaurant ever

The teriyaki chicken lunch plate was very abundant served with a side salad. It was more than enough. It only got 4 stars because the sushi rice lacked the flavor I was expecting. My mom is Japanese so in this area I'm more of a critic. The place was clean and well arranged and our server was very attentive. Also the price was very reasonable.
